SPIDERHONEY

Spiderhoney are an alt-rock band based in Bath and Bristol, UK, taking influence from Courtney Barnett, Fontaines D.C., and English Teacher. I am the drummer of this project and have produced, engineered, and mixed the band's singles Bare Minimum and You’re Just Like a Wrong, with more to come in the future. My aim with the production of this project is to achieve a gritty, energetic sound blended with a softer rock aesthetics and a laid-back feel.

This video was filmed in collaboration with Soundsprout Films, a business venture founded by myself and Fred, the lead guitarist of Spiderhoney. Featuring an acoustic arrangement of the band's first single, Bare Minimum, this video was used to promote the debut release.

Recorded live in one of the band's living rooms, this session was kept simple, utilising only two carefully placed C414’s as ambient microphones, a bass DI, and acoustic DIs, which were blended in to provide extra articulation for the guitar parts when needed.
